Game-changers called upon to help good causes

Roles this week are wide and varying, from helping a charity linked to Brighton & Hove Albion and an animal rescue cause, to backing a community centre and supporting a network for blind people.

The first opportunity available this week comes from Albion in the community (AITC).

The group, which is the charitable arm of the Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club, is looking for a person with experience of mental health issues who would be keen to share their story during a number of public talks.

Volunteers will be involved in a two-day training course in which they will help to construct an hour-long workshop and develop their own personal testimony about their mental health recovery journey.

After this they can then sign-up to take part in three or four workshops of 12 people where they will deliver their story, with events taking place between January and March.

Elsewhere, animal welfare charity the Worthing and District Animal Rescue Service (WADARS) is looking for a number of people to help in a variety of fundraising positions.

The charity, which each year helps to re-home more than 500 cats, dogs and other animals, as well as rescuing and releasing well over 2,000 wild creatures back into their natural habitat, is looking for community fundraising champion, a collections volunteer and fundraising administrator.

In Angmering, more assistance is needed to help serving lunch at a popular village centre.

The Angmering Comm-
unity Centre Association, in Foxwood Avenue, is looking for a lunch club and drop-in helper.

The role would see them making teas and coffees, as well as serving lunch to the community centre’s patrons.

The final opportunity on offer this week is with the Littlehampton Social Club for the Blind and Partially Sighted.

The organisation is looking for someone to steer it in the right direction as a volunteer driver or helper.

The role would involve collecting one or two of the members and bringing them to the group and returning them home later.

Drivers would need to have their own vehicles.

However, mileage expenses are offered.
