Help edit Rustington’s talking newspaper for the blind

EDITORS are needed to help lead the area’s talking newspaper for the blind.

The Voice of Progress, based in Rustington, is looking for editors who would be called upon every eight weeks to choose articles from local papers to be read by a newsreader.

Inspire Leisure is looking for someone to lead the way in its healthy walks programme.

The organisation is appealing for more volunteer leaders to help spearhead the walking scheme.

Its hoped that with additional help, the initiative will be able to expand and include outlying villages within the Arun area and slower and shorter walks for the less mobile. Commitment could be as little as one hour per week or month.

Volunteers would need to attend a training day.

Elsewhere, a shop assistant it needed to help the St Wilfrid’s Hospice fundraising store, in The Square, Barnham. The role would typically see volunteers sorting out displays of donations, manning the tills and helping customers find things in the store.

The final opportunity available for this week comes in the form of a volunteer sessions worker with the Arun Sunshine Group.

The charity aims to improve the education and welfare of adults with learning difficulties, and to provide support for their families and carers, in order to provide a better standard of life.

The role would see volunteers helping to run the scheme under the supervision of the project leader.

No special skills are required; you just need to be loving, caring and enthusiastic. Arun Sunshine Group sessions are three hours every two weeks.
