The East Preston Infant School, in Lashmar Road, is looking for someone with gardening experience to help the children with a special project in the school’s grounds.

They require someone with a warm personality, good sense of humour with the ability to talk to small children and have a good understanding of the ethos of the school.

Knowledge of gardening and an ability to perform light to medium outdoor tasks is also needed.

The role would see the volunteer helping out during photography trips across the area.

Someone with an interest and keen knowledge of photography, the ability to use IT digital enhancing software, patience and a sense of fun would be an ideal person for the role.

Neighbourly people are needed to help deliver food to needy households across the Gazette area.

Charity FareShare is hunting for more people to become neighbourhood food collection volunteers. The group needs people who can spare a few hours between November 27 and 29 to help vulnerable people living in food poverty.

Volunteers will be posted in their local Tesco store, armed with shopping lists, ready to greet customers and tell them a little bit about how the Neighbourhood Food Collection works. Customers are then encouraged to donate an extra item to FareShare as they shop. Shifts are three hours and you can volunteer as a team or as an individual.

Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice is in need of someone to help the charity to drum-up much-needed funds.

The hospice, based in Dover Lane, Poling, needs volunteers to help start up or join existing fundraising groups.

The role would see helpers organising events like dances, concerts, fashion shows and sponsored rides to raise cash for Chestnut Tree.
