Later on, he became a county councillor for Silverhill and St Helens – which was especially fitting as he had been born and lived in Silverhill.
His knowledge of business in Hastings was unrivalled and it is not too much to say that many people in the business community revered John.

In a nutshell he was an inspiring leader and splendid colleague and friend. He is irreplaceable.
