Laburnum is vital

I was disturbed by the reported threat to the Laburnum Centre, a very necessary facility, but also by the reported attitude of the councillors who took part in the discussion.

One speaker from a ‘posh’ area described it as an ‘over-50s leisure centre’.

Does she have any idea of the loneliness suffered by many of the users living on their own in flats, this centre is their only social contact with other people?

As to a survey via the Arun Times – I would hazard a guess 90 per cent are thrown away unread, and those in the flats who need to fill in the questionnaire never receive them because the distributors cannot gain access to the blocks.
