The St John Ambulance once had a prominent site in Horsham, attracting a large number of dedicated volunteers. But re-development meant a move to much smaller premises hidden away in Victoria Street, off New Street - which according to the internet is now ‘Permanently Closed’. The then WVS - now the Royal Voluntary Service - which once had a meeting place in Hurst Road moved to Crawley many years ago.
The clear message from these moves is that if you happen to live in Horsham and are in need of assistance or wish to volunteer - Crawley is the place to go.
