LETTER: Remember this at referendum

The intended closure of the Post Office in Lewes can be traced back to the EU. On 15th December 1997 it issued its '˜Directive 97/67/EC '˜Privatisation of Postal Services'.

Then, in November 2007,as part of this process, the Foreign Secretary at the time, David Miliband, was told by Brussels ‘The transformation programme will involve Post Office Ltd. reducing the size of its post office network by around 2,500 branches’.

Something for us to remember for the referendum?
