LETTER: Rowdy women spoilt the show
They were drinking from bottles of wine (in the view of the usherette), much of which ended up spilled on the theatre floor and despite many ‘dirty’ looks from others present and a polite request to be quieter, they persisted in talking, laughing and screaming loudly all through the show, singing along with all the songs and having their feet up on the seats.
It became so bad that one of my party left before the end after complaining to the management who appeared to do nothing about it. At the end of the show I told them they had ruined my evening but all they said was ‘that’s how we enjoy ourselves’ and ‘nobody has come to tell us off so it must have been OK’.

Hide AdIn my youth I was lucky enough to attend many pop concerts including The Beatles and Michael Jackson but I have never before had to cope with such piercing screaming that I needed to stick my fingers in my ears to protect my eardrums!
We recently saw ‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert’ which had a very lively audience but no-one enjoyed themselves to the detriment of others. It makes me worry about tickets I’ve already bought for up-coming shows in the knowledge that the management of the theatre is apparently unprepared to deal with such yobbish behaviour.
