Letter to the editor: Letter to MP calling for withdrawal of Homes England's West of Ifield speculative planning application
Open letter to Crawley MP Peter Lamb:
Dear Peter Lamb MP
Gatwick Airport Ltd’s recent aviation-safety objections to Homes England’s West of Ifield planning application — as reported in the Crawley Observer on 28 November and 1 December — raise issues that go to the heart of public safety, planning integrity, and responsible use of public money.
In view of the seriousness of these concerns, I am calling on you to urgently seek Ministerial intervention to ensure the immediate withdrawal or suspension of the application while a full and transparent review is undertaken.
Proceeding further risks committing significant public expenditure to a proposal whose viability is now in doubt.
Local residents deserve clarity, accountability and assurance that safety considerations are being treated as paramount.
