LETTER: Was all the cash spent on gold paint?
How interesting to read the article in last week's Herald stating that Mr Gulzar wishes to put even more gold paint on the Eastbourne pier.
Having walked round the pier during the last few days the only two unnecessary items which are in evidence are first, a surfeit of ugly un-matching picnic tables some of which look second-hand and secondly, far too many booths containing slot and other machines introduced for gambling purposes.
As these are not supervised they can be accessed by children and young persons.
Perhaps Mr Gulzar can disclose on what “he has spent thousands on renovations.”
I guess it’s mainly on the gold paint which he adores.
