A ‘daft idea’

I have always thought that transferring the East Preston medical practice to the most hazardous part of Wick was a daft idea.

What do the East Preston patients think about expecting them to travel several inconvenient miles to get medical advice and assistance.

Were they asked?

The vicinity of Morrisons’ new superstore is an extremely busy one, not ideal for people with poor health to have to negotiate.

If it is intended to serve the many new housing developments north of the A259 it is by no means centrally placed for these.

Surely the medical facilities should be proved by the developers on their land and at their expense?

The more recent suggestion that a new pharmacy should be provided on or near the Morrisons site must be resisted by all Wick and Toddington residents.

I have been a customer of the Glyn Norris Pharmacy in Wick Parade for very many years ever since it was opened by Mr Norris. That pharmacy renders an excellent service to hundreds of local people, even to the extent of expeditiously delivering medical supplies to the dozens of homes within its catchment area.

The future of Glyn Norris Pharmacy must depend on its clientele being assured and not nibbled at by nearby competitors.
