Absolute-Lee fabulous!

First of all, I saw the picture of this young man, then saw the headline celebrating Lee Rix's success. Fantastic!

I felt a heartwarming glow, as this is an amazing achievement.

Well done, Lee! Unfortunately, when I read on, I became very quickly disheartened as you have stated that Lee is a "sufferer" of Down's syndrome.

Lee does not look in any way as though he's suffering, does he?

Lee has Down's syndrome, and I say that with the greatest respect.

I am, and have been for five years, a support worker with adults who have learning disabilities, in West Sussex County Council's supported living scheme.

In my experience, individuals like Lee and his peers are fulfilled and empowered, and enjoy life.

I felt I had to reply, because the term "sufferer" is completely incorrect.
