Ace event planned for Battle’s Big Event

Next weekend, Saturday 8 September, at the recreation ground Battle’s Big Event will include a round-robin tennis tournament open to three generations of families.

The programme allows five girls and five boys in each of six age groups to be partnered by a parent, five ladies’ and five mens’ pairings for the over 16s and five or 10 pairings for the over 60s.

The occasion will include the formal opening of the newly resurfaced tennis courts by the Mayor, Richard Bye, at 11.30, followed by a demonstration by Richard Harrison, the principal coach at Amherst Tennis Club.
