Afternoon tea for college staff

Students on the Life and Work Skills course at Central Sussex College treated staff to afternoon tea on 19 June.

To complete their Customer Service Unit, students with various special educational needs baked delicious cakes, prepared sandwiches and brewed tea to serve to a handful of lucky College staff.

Students taking part inlcuded Jasmine Heathcote, 18; and Tasmin Leighton, 18, from Horsham; Brody Fawcett, 18; Sarah McEvoy, 18; Glen Caplin, 17; and Miguel Mendes, 18, all from Crawley; with Ross Pound, 18, from Crawley Down; and Shanise Martin, 17, from East Grinstead.

Glenn Caplin commented: “It went really well, although it was hard work and I’ve gained a new appreciation for waiters and waitresses!”

Miguel Mendes added: “I enjoyed the event, and the staff were all so appreciative. There was lots of preparation involved but it was well worth it.”

Director of Sales and Marketing, Sarah Dodwell commented on her afternoon tea experience: “I would like to thank the students for such a lovely afternoon - the food was wonderful and the service a delight.”
