All in all, it is a no-brainer

I am very pro Europe and I used to be very pro EU, I thought that once we democratised it we would have a valuable Europe-wide organisation.

However, after 40 odd years I realise that is never going to happen.

It has become a self-serving club run by bureaucrats for bureaucrats.

It is wasteful, corrupt and bloated.

A massive example of Empire building.

I noticed a lot of shroud waving in the paper this week which prompted this letter.

Mr Martin-Royle queried the money that would be saved by coming out, at least he agreed that money would be saved.

It is fairly obvious that we would never get back what we put in, no organisation runs like that.

The money we save however would more than compensate for the money we would get from the EU, which was ours anyway.

Ms Hills praises the EU stance on equality but the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 (c. 65) is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom.

Leaving the EU would still leave this act on our statute books so no difference there then. Woe betide any UK Government trying to repeal that.

Mr Webb seems to think that we are the EU’s people, no way, the Eurocrats are and their aim is a European superstate with no borders and no countries. A gravy train for them.

The EU founders stated aim was to move to a superstate without the public noticing what was going on (Jean Monnet 1952). Mind you I do agree with Mr Webb about PR, and its only complicated for the counters!

I am saddened to see so many people think that to remain part of the EU is to maintain the status quo, how wrong they are.

It will get worse, more control and less flexibility.

David Cameron’s little tweaks will be brushed aside and we will head for sovereignty annihilation. The only sensible way is to vote to leave the EU.

Security would be improved and our defence, as part of NATO, would not be affected. The multinationals that want us to stay in are saying that for their own convenience. Less work for them.

Trade with Europe will not suffer as they export more to us than we do to them and any trade tariffs will hurt them more. Can you see the French not wanting us to buy their wine, or the Germans their cars. As for ex-pats living abroad, plenty of Americans live in Europe and the US is not part of the EU (yet).

So all in all it is a no brainer, if we want to continue as the UK, we must vote to leave.
