Apology, please

Who on earth do the Littlehampton bonfire organisers think they are, criticising the generosity of the public by calling them mean, when they state the funds raised were £1,300 down on a previous collection?

Standing in the crowds watching the procession go by, I and many around me were surprised at the relatively small turnout of floats, although the standard was, as always, high. I found it hard to spot happy, smiling faces. In general, most members of the procession looked downright miserable !

Perhaps in view of this, the organisers should be praising the public for their support and not slandering them, otherwise future support might dwindle. I would think an apology might be called for.
