Ask the right question

AS many of us know it is important to ask the right

question.

It is refreshing to see some councillors do consult their constituents and then openly report their findings.

There has been a great push for transparency in national government, but do we feel we have it in local government in Bexhill?

Councillor Charles Clark asked some important questions in his questionnaire, and how fortunate that his constituents were given the opportunity to voice their concerns about the seafront and the shelters, especially as their responses to this would, one assumes, would not have pleased the council, given the reaction to the thousands of signatures Jackie Bialeska has collected.

The question I suspect many would like to ask their councillors, given the silence of many on this issue, is: What do you think about the new proposed shelters?

One thing is certain: next May all the constituents in Rother will be asked the same question and for some of the present councillors, many of their constituents may come up with an answer which may not please them, and be the wrong answer as far as they are concerned!
