Best to start over
EAST Preston has no excuse for not knowing the history of the Warren Recreation Ground and village hall. I know there are many parish histories published.
Richard Akhurst (Gazette story, January 13) is quite right about the bizarre situation today. Public parish council meetings should be held at the hall by right, which is not to say the parish office should be there.
The village hall charity should be re-founded, to return it into the original Warren Charity that includes the cricket field.

Hide AdIn any case, provision of extra facilities for the village hall has never been a real problem. As to the parish office, this could have been dealt with long ago if the still derelict bungalow at The Martlets had been leased.
