Booking fees fury

I WAS rather taken aback at the Windmill Theatre when I went to book tickets to see three separate local amateur dramatic companies’ shows that were coming to the theatre.

I could book only one of the shows, as tickets were not ready for the other two, but I was told that there would be a booking fee of £1 per ticket extra to the ticket price.

I said: “Even if I paid cash?”

The assistant said yes.

I was also told the cinema will also charge the same booking fees.

I think this is terrible and, being an OAP, I think could put people off of booking for shows which would be bad for the companies and could affect attendances.

I could understand if the booking fee was made on the phone with a credit card, but to turn up with cash and then have to still pay extra?
