Katerina joined Christ’s Hospital in September 2012 and has continued to make tremendous progress balancing her life as a boarder at CH with her ice skating training in Guildford, which she attends three times a week during term time.

The Hellenic Ice Sports Federation (the Greek equivalent to Team GB) has shown considerable interest in Katerina and recently invited her to take part in their National Figure Skating Championships held in Athens. These Championships included athletes based in Greece plus Greek athletes based in the USA, Austria and the UK. Katerina was placed first in the Novice A Ladies (Under 13) which gives her the title of National Greek Champion! Her success in these Championships will now give Katerina the opportunity to take part in International competitions and allow her to attend International training camps set up by the International Skating Union.

This summer Katerina has been selected to represent Guildford as one of their solo figure skaters to compete in the National Team Challenge.

There are eight clubs in Britain that take part, with eight categories of skating disciplines from free skating, ice dance and show number.

Following this event Katerina will compete at the Valley Open IJS at Lee Valley, London and in September she will compete at the Southern IJS 2013 at Alexandra Palace, London.

Director of Sport at Christ’s Hospital, David Messenger, is most impressed with Katerina. He commented: “Not only is she talented and dedicated to her skating, Katerina is a great all-rounder in all aspects of school life.
