Combepounded stupidity!

As a final postscript to the sorry saga of the Link Road what do the idiotic County Council do, come up with a stupid name for it “Combe Valley Way”. Don’t they know that Combe is another word for valley. So what we have is a road called Valley Valley Way.

Perhaps this is a fitting name for a project that was rated as low value for money by the Department of Transport and that will create more local traffic problems than it will solve in addition to the environmental destruction being wrought upon previously beautiful countryside.

Once again Hastings and Bexhill have drawn the short straw being fobbed off with this useless road. Other coastal towns (Eastbourne, Brighton, Hove, Worthing) all have major bypasses. Instead of wasting £130 + million of hard-earned taxpayers money on this road, plans should have been made for a proper bypass for Little Common, Bexhill, St Leonards, Hastings and Ore. That would have made a real difference to traffic congestion and improve the quality of life for all residents in the area.
