Friends, family and neighbours were invited to Upper Mead Care Home in Henfield on Tuesday September 15 to enjoy an afternoon buffet, tea, cake and a raffle to raise funds for the Shoreham Air Disaster.

It is very personal to us as one of our Fire Training Officers (Richard Lucas) was in attendance on that tragic day and experienced first hand the total devastation.

As well as contributions from visitors, the raffle featured kind donations from local businesses including a cut and blow-dry from Hyatt’s Hair, a beautiful Orchid from Jasmines and a £30 voucher from the Frankland Arms in Washington.

Together they helped us raise £350. A sum of £150 from the staff fund was also donated to the Firefighters Charity.
