Delivering help

In the financial year of 2014-15, we raised £21,458 and are aiming for at least another £25,000 in this new financial year, so we are again sending a plea for everybody’s help!

The RNIB is the UK’s leading charity, offering information, support and advice to over two million people with sight problems. Our pioneering work helps anyone with a sight problem – not just with Braille, talking books and computer training, but with imaginative and practical solutions to everyday challenges.

We fight for equal rights for people with sight problems. Our projects such as Talk and Support and Parents Place make a difference to people’s lives. We need your support to fund our vital work. As a charity, we rely on your generosity.

Money raised by collecting stamps helps support services like RNIB Sunshine House School at Northwood, Middlesex. This is a non-maintained special school for children who are blind or partially-sighted with multiple disabilities.

The RNIB Sunshine House School is firmly committed to our belief that all children have the right to learn, and provides a service of high quality specialist education and care through daily and residential provision, enabling our children to achieve their potential.

We desperately need more people to send us their used and new postage stamps from the UK and abroad. If you know anybody who could help us anywhere in the world, please pass on our details. A status on Facebook etc would be a great help.

For every £1 we raise, RNIB spends 87p directly helping blind and partially-sighted people, 11p on raising more vital funds and 2p on administration.

Stamps can be posted or hand-delivered to the volunteer in your area, Mr H. Broderick, 13 Gloucester Place, Littlehampton, West Sussex, BN17 7AF, who will sort and trim the stamps and then pass them on to the RNIB stamp buyer.

I appreciate that you may receive lots of requests from charities, but sight is something we often take for granted. Any help or support you or your organisation can offer will make a difference to our work supporting blind and partially-sighted people. Thank you for your time and consideration.
