dizzy day was a grand affair

WHAT a day we had at our dizzy day 2008 at the Conservative Hall, East Preston!

We raised just over 1,000!.

Half of this money has already been allocated to the Paediatric Diabetes Centre at St Richard's Hospital, Chichester, in order to keep their Hba1c machine running.

This enables children to have their long-term diabetes blood check, by using just a finger prick, rather than having to have blood taken from their arm.

The latter can, of course, be very traumatic for a child, and having had diabetes from the age of six, I can remember very clearly what it was like, so we were particularly keen to keep this piece of equipment in action for them.

The other half has been allocated to Worthing and Southlands Paediatric Diabetes Centre and we are now in discussions as to which project we will be funding.

A special thank-you must go to our team of volunteers, who are absolutely fantastic and work so hard in our shops and events.

Thank you to all our loyal supporters. Without you all, dizzy would not be what it is today!
