At 11am on Remembrance Sunday, it was lovely to see the veterans with their standards and wreaths parading (all socially distanced) at Eastbourne War Memorial to pay their respects to their fallen comrades.

All of these veterans were over 70 and in the “vulnerable group”, but all perfectly capable of assessing their own risk and didn’t need SAGE to do it for them, or local bureaucrats who want to hide away and do everything on Zoom until a vaccination is available.

It was reassuring to see these older servicemen setting a stoical example of respect for the fallen whilst maintaining safe compliance.
