Fault of strikes lies with Southern Rail

I see that Southern trains, as part of their excuse for their poor service are trying to blame 'a reluctance by some train crew to take up rest day working'.

I’m sorry. In what way is this the fault of train crew? They are fully entitled to take their time off and refuse to do overtime. This, surely, is an indictment of Southerns own management in that they have failed to employ enough staff to run the services they advertise and have, for far too long relied on their staff to work overtime.

Don’t try to blame others for your own mistakes Southern, this situation is fully of your own making. After all, the lack of enough train crew doesn’t happen overnight, it takes a long time to get to this level.
