Follow rules of the road

CORRESPONDENCE in the Gazette (December 23, 2004) and an extract from the Highway Code you published at the same time established that, at the Windmill roundabout on the A259 at Rustington, traffic from Rustington must take the right-hand lane, then signal left if bound for Worthing and cross over to the nearside of the A259.

This ruling is still being ignored.

Only recently I saw four cars in five minutes use the left-hand lane to get onto the A259 bound for Worthing, thus underpassing cars in the proper lane.

This is a recipe for collision. Attention by the highways department is needed, either by more definite road marking, or official change of the lane usage.
