Ford forgotten

In reply to Terry Ellis’ letter (Gazette, June 19), What of the people who live in Ford, his letter gives the impression that if Ford Prison goes, then nothing else of importance remains.

The people of Ford, over the years, have fought long and hard against plans for Ford that come thick and fast; there is no let-up.

I can assure you, Mr Ellis, that the people of Ford would feel the blighting of Ford that you suggest. Simply paving over Ford Prison is not the way forward. I suggest that a little more lateral thinking should have gone into your problem-solving, because there is no easy solution.
