Fund-raising target more than doubled

Following your publication of my letter (Gazette, March 1) about my Operation Smile concert last week, I am delighted to be able to tell you that not only have we now exceeded our target of £300, enabling two children to undergo operations for the very disfiguring cleft palate deformity, but also I can report that, owing to the extreme generosity of one of your readers, we can add a further £1,000 to the total!
