Glorious day put smiles on faces

ARMED Forces Day arrived with a beautiful sunrise and I knew we were in for a glorious, warm, sunny day and I certainly was not disappointed.

By 10 o'clock the beach and surrounding areas were full of families set up for a great day out. While walking down the Promenade as part of the parade it was nice to see so many faces, young and old, both local and visitors.

I cannot thank the uniformed groups enough for all their support throughout the whole day and it was good to see so many veterans proudly wearing their medals from past conflicts.

Big thanks also go to Gary Smart and his team at Harbour Park, especially Wesley Smart, who secured the services of the Red Devils who were professional, charming guys and a real crowd-puller for the event.

I also want to say a special thank-you to Rosie, Sofia, Carolyn, Will and Dan from Littlehampton Town Council for all their preparation and hard work during this momentous day.
