The money raised was the result of all the charity events held in Christine’s captaincy, which included the Cottesmore Pro-Am, rafflesheld at their Spring and Autumn Meetings and their Turkey Trot, golf competitions, guessing games, a Christmas flower arranging afternoon and five quiz nights.

Christine acted as quizmaster for the quiz nights which were particularly popular with teams of four competing over 10 rounds of general knowledge, as well as enjoying a tasty supper!

Christine said, “I am delighted to hand over this cheque to Chestnut Tree House to support the wonderful work they do. I set myself a target of raising £4,000 at the start of my captaincy and am thrilled that the final total exceeded that. This is entirely due to the amazing generosity of the members at Cottesmore and especially the Ladies’ Section; they supported all my fundraising events and I hope had fun doing so.

“I thoroughly enjoyed my captaincy and achieving my fundraising aim was an added bonus.”

Christine hopes to carry on her support for the hospice by working as a volunteer at a number of different fundraising events they hold.
