Henfield girl lands lead in London production


Sammy plays Sophia and Sara is her Grandmother. The entire play is just the 2 of them on stage and it is a very heart-warming, funny play based on the book of the same name by Tove Jansson. It is the centenary of Tove Jansson, author and creator of The Moomins. It runs 7-29 June.
Sammy, 12, is apupil at Millais School and has had previous theatre experience having done a year in Billy Elliot West End, a TV Series due for release late 2014 and commercials for Morphy Richards, Marmite and Hasbro. Sammy has been greatly supported by the school, Mike Sutton (deputy) has liased closely re education as gruelling rehearsals mean Sammy has been 10-6 Mon-Sat with one day in school each week and tutoring by the production.

Hide AdSammy’s school drama teacher, Rebecca Gooding, is thrilled Sammy has this wonderful opportunity to shine as Lead in Theatre with acclaimed Olivier actress, Sara Kestelman. Both Mrs Gooding and Mr Sutton are taking their families to support Sammy during the Production Run.
