I feel proud to be a reader of the 'Worthing Herald'.

Your wise decision to take no editorial view on how to vote prior to the EU referendum was brave in a town that you knew would vote overwhelmingly for Brexit. Even more so was your subsequent championing of the values of inclusivity, staying calm and concern for the vulnerable. I am especially impressed by your admonition to stand up for hard-working Eastern European migrants who have made their home here. Nowhere in their columns did our two local MPs mention the necessity of this. The decency of your approach to the divisive aftermath of the referendum is commendable and represents the very best of the friendly town I know and love.
