How absurd with 100-plus on allotment waiting list

I WAS surprised to read in your story regarding the proposal for a health centre on the Worthing Road allotment site that there is land available for allotments adjacent to the current site.

I enquired about an allotment in Worthing Road last year and was advised that there was a lengthy waiting list of more than 100 people.

I suggest that instead of relocating current allotment holders, the council leaves this site alone and opens up this land owned by "church authorities" to accommodate those on the waiting list.

It seems to me that the want and need for allotments in the local area is such that placing a health centre over current allotment land is absurd!
