I read with interest in the Herald Mr Josh Babarinde’s letter addressing the pensions issue for women and seeking assistance from our MP, Mrs Caroline Ansell.

I along with many other women across Eastbourne have been campaigning for the Parliamentary Ombudsman to conduct an enquiry into whether or not the DWP adequately informed us of the upcoming pension changes in the early 1990’s.

We do not believe they did.

And as Mr Babarinde pointed out in his letter Eastbourne’s previous MP Stephen Lloyd had been pressing this case vigorously only for it to be put on the back burner when a Judicial Review into the original changes was instigated.

Now this has failed in the Courts I would urge Mrs Ansell also pick up the cudgels and lobby the Ombudsman on our behalf.

She promised during the recent general election that she would support WASPI women locally.

I hold her to that commitment.
