Ignoring needs of young generation

I FEEL I have to write to ask why the children's play areas in East Preston are so poor?

Come on, Arun, get your act together, even my six-year-old daughter Tegan has recently asked why Rustington and Angmering have got much better facilities.

Over the last few years we have seen Lashmar Road play area gradually decline in equipment and it is now totally inadequate for today's needs.

Also, with the ongoing situation at the Sea Road playground, I fear this is also going to result in inadequate facilities.

You only have to travel around the local area to see many playgrounds with superb equipment, which not only keeps children out of trouble but also challenges and improves their mental and physical abilities.

Has East Preston slipped into a period of ignoring the needs of the younger generation in favour of others? I hope not.

I look forward to hearing from anyone who can answer this, either from the local community or the powers-that-be.
