Impressed by new innovations

I MOVED to Littlehampton from London nine years ago and have been most impressed with the way the local council has tried to encourage the town to be attractive to tourists and local people.

The East Beach Caf has brought recognition locally, nationally and internationally by its design and quality of food.

Whether we like the design or not (and I happen to think it is outstanding), it has put Littlehampton on the map, which is where we have to be if we are to survive.

Then there is the bench, another controversial landmark.

People come to see it and it is quite a fascinating design.

The amount of work which has gone into its construction is quite amazing and the fact that anyone can go and see it being constructed is a great learning experience for young and old alike.

We may not like the design (again, I think it is innovative), but it is a talking point and draws people in.

Let's be positive and remember Littlehampton is a great place to live and by our creative thinking, we can make sure it stays that way.
