Let’s give the NHS workers a pay rise

The applause for the NHS staff and others on the front line on Thursday evenings is very moving.

However, I have a better idea.

Let’s insist the government gives them all a £1,000 bonus and a 20 per cent pay rise.

It seems the least we can do after so many have risked their lives.

Doctors, nurses and others have already died because of a lack of protective clothing and testing, in an underfunded NHS.

It would not be a problem to find the money, now they’ve admitted, there is a magic money tree after all.
