LETTER: Doctor deserves medal for service

I refer to your article (page 5, Observer, September 16) informing readers of Dr. Roger Elias's impending retirement in October, after long and much-loved service to the people of Bexhill.

Can I on behalf of so many residents request the leader of Rother District Council submit a Citation to the Honours Division at Whitehall with supporting evidence. Also consider a local award.

We witness so many unworthy awards, here is an opportunity to recognise an outstanding doctor of long service which reflects credit upon him and all NHS staff at his practice and beyond.
