May we, through the Middy, thank the 7,110 visitors to the exhibition, including several who had benefited from the Day Centre at Newick, who together helped us raise over £4,000 for Headway.

With the money raised, their project for the restoration of the Victorian walled vegetable garden has now been completed, a gardening club for the clients has been started and produce from the garden used in their kitchen.

A heartfelt thanks to all our visitors, some on a regular basis, who bought paintings and helped to fill the collection boxes. Thanks must be given to Ingrid, from Headway, Nicola Bird, manager and her staff, Steve and Ame, Phil and his staff at the Bay Tree Coffee Shop who also supported us.

And not forgetting support of the “Middy”, which keeps everyone known what is going on in our area.

Many thanks from Maureen Welfare, Chris Batt, Brian Hastings Clough, Maryline Heywood, Jo Hodder, Dorothy Taylor and Yvonne Wemyss.

Maureen Welfare
