LETTER: Loss of facility is of great concern

I am writing with regard to the proposed leisure facility at Broadbridge Heath. As a member of Horsham Indoor Bowls Club, we were advised after some three years of promises that a bowling facility is not likely to be installed in the redevelopment.

We have some 400 members who for nearly 20 years have enjoyed our club which gives all years pleasure both sporting and social for a large number of people who can no longer participate in more active pursuits, and which provides a refuge for many single people who can enjoy a meal and a get together as well as an enjoyable sporting contest.

The club also caters for blind groups, several Probus groups, schools, guides and brownies, hosts regular outdoor club games during the winter months and also holds County and National competitions and in addition has an active junior section.

The potential loss of this facility is of great concern to all of us.

We feel very let down particularly as we have been promised that we would be rehoused.
