LETTER: Mobility service reliant on gifts

We are incredibly grateful to the group of residents at Bridges Court in Horsham who have very generously donated a wheelchair. Recently, a team of Red Cross volunteers demonstrated how to give first aid and explained the range of services the charity runs in Horsham, in particular the mobility aid service, to the pensioners.

The residents were so impressed with the morning’s demonstration and discussion that they decided to donate a new wheelchair to the British Red Cross from their coffee morning charity fund, which is made from profits selling tea and coffee for 25p and personal donations.

We would like to say a very big thank you to the residents for their donation. The British Red Cross mobility aid service, which lends items such as wheelchairs, toilet raisers and commodes, is reliant on donations to maintain its service and this generous gift will help many people in the future.
