LETTER: New rules not tough enough

I think the new Â£200 fine for texting or using a mobile phone whilst driving is not high enough.

The police are not tough enough – make the fine £1,000 plus a ban I am sure drivers will think twice about texting or making any calls.

They know it’s wrong to do this and they know they will get just a slap on the wrist and a fine.

We must get tougher.

Just like drinking and driving, more people will be killed if we don’t get tougher.
