Launched in 2007, in association with the BBC News Channel, the awards recognise individuals or groups of people below the age of 25 who have made a positive difference to other people’s lives during the current year.

They may have volunteered for one or more projects, raised money for charitable purposes, made a positive impact in the local community or, possibly, acted as a carer for a relative.
