LETTER: St Mark’s Church visible in photo

As a resident of Horsham all my life I enjoy seeing the photographs of the town which are published in the Memory Lane article.

However, I must disagree with the explanation of where the photograph was taken in last week’s publication. I agree that it was taken from Denne Hill but I believe the church is St Mark’s in North Street and not St Mary’s in the Causeway.

The white building with the three arches is the old Capitol building and the white building below is the old Southdown Bus Garage which was in Denne Road. The T-junction is Queensway (before the houses were built) and Chesworth Lane.

The sweep of the railway can be seen running behind the houses in Chesworth Lane which is shown by the line of the trees.

Keep the photos coming as I find them most interesting.
