We understand that doctors and diabetes specialist staff are crucial to supporting people to live well with diabetes. However, many healthcare professionals often have many conflicting demands on their time.

That’s why Diabetes UK is recruiting volunteers to promote Diabetes UK’s services in clinics and surgeries to help doctors and clinical staff better support people living with the condition.

This newly created role called a ‘Healthcare Engagement Volunteer’ will involve a range of activities from updating GPs and nursing staff on our latest campaigns to giving talks on the types of services and support available from Diabetes UK.

So we are looking for people in Sussex with a good knowledge of the NHS who are keen to work with the UK’s leading diabetes charity to provide information to help people better manage their condition and campaign for improved healthcare services for local people living with the serious life-long condition.

Diabetes is one of the biggest health challenges we face today and this influential role is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference.

The closing date for applications is 16 May and interviews on 30 May.

There will also be an induction day on 11 June.
