Littlehampton is still a great place to live

IN reply to Dr Webster (Gazette letters, October 15), we have been in Littlehampton for only five years, and some of the place is a little run-down, pubs have closed, but surely this is a national trend during recession.

We have, it would appear, been seriously misled over our hospital, but we still live in hope.

There is a regeneration plan underway and, like it or not, things like the East Beach Caf and the World's Longest Bench bring visitors to the town.

However, we still enjoy excellent weather, a beautiful, long, unspoilt, Blue Flag beach, a silver gilt from South East in Bloom for our council and community efforts for floral displays, a best-performing local newspaper and the most kindly, friendly and welcoming people to be found anywhere.

Everything is changing, everywhere, but Littlehampton is still a great place to live.
