Longest bench could cut off access points

PERHAPS I am missing something obvious, but I have some concerns regarding the proposed bench on Littlehampton seafront.

To start with, it looks extremely uncomfortable, compared with traditional seats with a back-rest and the sheltered seating we have at present.

A backward step, surely?

Also, if it stretches in an unbroken line from Harbour Park to the Rusty Bucket (editor's note '“ that would be the East Beach Caf), there must be access problems to and from the footpath from South Terrace, the western crazy golf and putting, the picnic and children's play areas, as well as the wide-open space of The Green.

Are we expected to clamber over it?

I can scarcely believe this crackpot scheme is actually going ahead.
