Ludicrous policy should be changed

Philip Circus’ column in the March 28 edition rightly makes the case for press freedom. The councillor particularly pushes back at those political figures who seek to bully and gag the press. Spot on councillor Circus! So imagine my surprise when two pages later, I read the article by Theo Cronin, where he had been denied an interview with a council official and told it was now ‘policy’ that he could only speak to a... political figure!

Perhaps councillor Circus could show his commitment to free speech by getting this ludicrous policy changed?
