Mid Sussex Golf Club Captains Drive-in

There was a great atmosphere in the Clubhouse at Mid Sussex Golf Club on 19th April as 84 members tucked into coffee and bacon rolls before taking part in a Stableford competition with 2 best scores to count.

Teams of four in any format from across all sections were competing to celebrate the start of the new Captains year.

Each participant planted flags on the 17th fairway to guess where each Captain’s ball would end up at the Drive-In, which took place in the afternoon. Men’s Captain Alan Wright hit a good one, followed by Senior’s Captain Roy Robinson, who almost out drove the flags. Diana Beningfield followed as Lady Captain, facing the daunting challenge for the second year.

Winners of the Stableford all received prizes from the pro shop.

1st. Richard Soan, Derek King, Mike King and Julie King. 96 pts on c/b. 2nd. Phil Stillwell, Melvyn Lord, Peter Browning and Stefano Amati 96 pts. 3rd.Richard Dawson, Tim Wilson, Michael Powell and Gwynneth James 92 pts.

Winners nearest the Drives Tony Clark, Phillip Lowe and Bob Heasman.
